Website–Call for Submissions

Introduction

The purpose of this call for submission is to reach out to the web creator community for the creation of our new website, the integration of the present information, the smooth transition from the old one to the new one and the documentation of the processes and end results.

The information provided in this document are meant to be guidelines for any person wishing to submit their website project to the 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy. The specific details and requirements will be discussed with the creator chosen for the project.

Present situation

The 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy’s website (genderadvocacy.org) has been lacking functionalities and conviviality. As a promotion tool and information portal, we use it regularly to promote our events, job posting, workshops and, as a collective-run organization, to give access to public documentation such as our constitution.

The present lack of easy navigation is seen as a clear accessibility issue for the staff and members of the 2110 both for modification and access. Bilingualism is also an issue both when updating and when navigating the website.

Our requirements

Bilingualism

As a Montreal organisation aiming at providing services to the largest population possible, we feel our website must be easily translated.

Multi-user modification

Many users will be modifying the website according to events, programs or services.

Password protected sections

Staff and volunteer will have access to modification. We want our website to be a space where volunteers willing to participate in the growth of our centre can create their own program without interfering with the regular activities of the website

Search function

With so many things going on at the 2110, having a search function/engine is a must.

Multimedia

Podcasts, pics, videos, and documents…we want it all.

Templates

As non-experts in website creation and modification, we feel the need to have an easy way to make modifications to different sections…without messing the structure.

Proper documentation

Documentation on the website (software used, web addresses, functionalities, etc) is also a must for the 2110. We want to make sure that no matter the change in our organisation, we’ll have the history and written memory of how things work.

Our expectations

As the expert, we expect the person or group answering this call for submission to:

-Explain briefly how they envision answering our requirements
-Give us a timeline of the creation of the new website and transfer from the old one to the new
-Any insight on addition that should be made to the new website
-An estimate of the costs based on the above

Please send all responses to: centre2110@gmail.com by June 2, at 5pm.
