We Support Community Television. Vote YES for CUTV!

iillustration of television with text "Vote yes for CUTV."As a social justice organisation that promotes gender equality and empowerment, the 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy views independent community-oriented media outlets such as CUTV as an important resource in a sea of corporate controlled mainstream media.

Dissemination of accurate information from a variety of voices is key to fighting the oppression and discrimination ingrained in our society. By doing just that, CUTV plays an important role in making the Concordia community a more thoughtful and egalitarian learning environment, and we look forward to this being extended beyond the university’s borders through a new cable television station that will be the first English language community television station in the province.

We strongly endorse CUTV’s proposed fee levy increase that will help bring independent television programming to a broader cable television audience, and we encourage all students to vote yes for community television between November 29th and December 1st.

Sincerely,

The 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy
