The 2110 Space Launch

Many thanks to everyone who came out to our Open House / Wine and Cheese / Space Launch on April 15th, 2011. The event was a launch for our new second location, at 1500 De Maisonneuve, Room 404. The new space is intended as space for meeting, organizing, and holding events, and will serve as a hub for campaigns and programming at the Centre, as well as any groups or individuals involved or wanting to be involved in them!

The launch was a great success, and many who were new to the 2110 came out that night to chat and find out ways to plug into the Centre’s activities and advocacy. When our Annual General Meeting was held just 2 weeks later, the energy in the space was tempered by the fact that people had had a good time learning about each other and gender advocacy there not very long before.

What does gender advocacy mean to you?

Wine and conversation both flowed freely.

Ceramic masks by the lovely Laura Ellyn, aka the Centre’s Peer Support and Advocacy Outreach Coordinator. Although the masquerade was optional, many donned these colourful contortions throughout the night.
