Part-Time Employment Opportunity: Assistant Campaigns Coordinator

Centre for Gender AdvocacyDuties: Assisting the Centre for Gender Advocacy’s Campaigns Coordinator in planning events, public outreach and popular education activities for various campaigns of the Centre.

Skills Required:
 General computer skills, public outreach, knowledge of the Centre for Gender Advocacy’s mandate; familiarity with past events, campaigns and services offered by the Centre for Gender Advocacy.

Student Gains: The Centre for Gender Advocacy’s Programming and Campaigns Coordinator will supervise the student. Supervision will consist of weekly meetings at which the student will provide an overview of work completed and to be completed, and will ask for any clarification or assistance as needed. Training will be provided to the student as needed to ensure that they are aware of their tasks and responsibilities, and in order to encourage communication with their supervisor. The student will also participate in regular meetings with other staff members and volunteers, which will give them an opportunity to engage in different problem-solving and decision-making scenarios on the job. During their contract, the Assistant Campaigns Coordinator will have the opportunity to experience working in a collaborative environment at a not-for-profit organization dedicated to social justice. Participation in Centre events, resource building and decision-making process will provide the student with a valuable background for any future community-oriented work, or work with socially progressive organizations. The student will work with a small but diverse staff, who can provide insight into non-profit work. Hourly wage: $12
