Each year, the Centre for Gender Advocacy continues to advance its mandate of promoting gender equity and empowerment, particularly as it relates to marginalized communities.
Through our Peer Support & Advocacy Program, many in the Concordia community and beyond are able to access free, non-judgmental and confidential peer support with volunteers trained in active listening skills and resource finding. Over the past year, the program has expanded to include support groups and additional health and wellness programming, to great reception by our community.
In the last years, our team successfully lobbied for policy change at Concordia that will allow trans’ and gender non-conforming students to use their preferred name in all communications with the university. Our team also worked to establish a gender neutral bathrooms list on Concordia campus, which was co-opted into an interactive map by Concordia administration in 2022 and can now be found here.
The Centre’s team is consistently lobbying for the rights and justice of trans people and gender minorities in Montreal and across Quebec.
What will my donation do?

Our goal is to continue to work toward gender equality and empowerment. With the help of donations from supporters like you, we will continue to see enhanced appreciation for gender diversity and improved access to services for people of all genders and backgrounds.
Thank you again for your generous support of our efforts to fight gender oppression.
