Did you know? Concordia is making great strides in becoming more inclusive of LGBT students. For example, in the last year, changes were implemented to make it easy for Trans* students to have their preferred name used in all communications with the university so as to avoid being outed to fellow students and faculty.
The next step is to create an accessible map of Concordia’s gender-neutral bathrooms – an essential resource for all gender non-conforming students!
The Dean of Students and the 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy invite you to propose a mapping system. This call for proposals is open to all undergraduate and graduate students at Concordia.
We currently have a list of all of Concordia’s gender-neutral bathrooms (.dwg and .xls formats) and need someone to put this data into a map format that is:
• Printable by site/building/floor (if possible)
• Navigable by site/building/floor (if possible)
• Accessible through the web (embeddable)
• Modifiable
• Eventually, transferable to a mobile app
A stipend of $300 will be offered for the selected project.
Proposals should contain:
• a solid description of the tools and methods that will be used to create the map
• if possible, an example of a map that would show the end result
Deadline for submission is January 25th.
Project deadline is March 1st.
