Call for new Directors

photo of 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy staff and Board membersAre you passionate about working for gender equality and justice? Do you have skills in policy development, financial management or human resources? Are you familiar with Concordia University? The 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy is looking for people like you to join its Board of Directors until its Annual General Meeting at the end of April (at which point, Directors may resubmit their candidacy to be considered for re-election).

Directors must commit to 1 Board meeting and 1-2 committee meetings per month. Committees include Finance, Labour, Policy, Fundraising and Promotions. Decisions made at these meetings may also generate tasks to be completed outside of meeting times.

Board members carry out strategic planning, and ensure that the organisation’s vision, mission and values are up-to-date and reflected in the Centre’s programming and campaigns. Directors are also responsible for developing the annual budget, evaluating staff, and ensuring that the organisation is fulfilling all of its legal obligations.

As a Director, you will gain management and communication skills through Board trainings and practice. You will be a valuable and appreciated support to the Centre’s staff, and an important contributor in sharing the Centre’s anti-oppression mandate with the broader community.

To submit your candidacy, please send your biography to info[at]genderadvocacy.org by January 13th at 5pm. Please indicate why you are interested in joining the Board and what skills you can bring to the organisation, as well as the amount of time that you are able to contribute. Submissions should be approximately 1 page long.

We look forward to hearing from you!
