An interactive workshop on teen dating and violence, including an overview of what violence means, and examples of violence within teenage couples. The discussion will delve into cultural contexts, including that of young south Asian couples. The presentation will incorporate storytelling, and group work and will touch upon the role of technology in transforming how we interact with each other and how we define a relationship.
This event is taking place as part of the Blue Print Project: a radio and popular education series to raise awareness about gendered violence. The project is a cooperative effort between Radio CKUT and the 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy. Young women and girls from all communities, backgrounds and of all abilities are invited to take part in this collective, creative radio project. Twelve workshops on gender based violence will take place at the 2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy, and twelve workshops on making radio will take place at CKUT. No experience needed. Registration is free.
This workshop will take place at 1500 de Maisonneuve West, Suite 404. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
